Description
Rendezvous at Les Chênes: a family affair,
two chefs come together to pass on their passion for "good food", a taste experience to be savored over a meal.
They're one of those great restaurant families where the love of cooking is inherited.
It all began on the banks of the Ruisseau de la Faye, where Léo's great-grandparents offered exclusively local produce and fresh trout raised on site in the ponds at their inn. In the 70s, the current restaurant took shape in the shade of oak trees.
Since then, Chef Jean-François Fafournoux has made the family-run establishment famous, combining tradition with modernity and offering a menu full of local flavors.
His favorite ingredient? Vegetables! "If I had to work on just one thing, it would be vegetables! Indispensable for maintaining good health and highly varied, they are an infinite source of inspiration.
From now on, creative inspiration is shared by two around the five senses: Chef Léo Fafournoux, 5th in the generation, has taken over in this family united right down to the stoves. Having worked in Michelin-starred restaurants such as Marcon and Meyer, his rigor and exacting standards are now applied in a calm and cheerful atmosphere. Under the watchful eye of Muriel, his mother, who works in the restaurant's pastry shop, concocting delicious desserts.
Proud to pass on and revisit the family's gastronomic heritage, the two Chefs are careful to highlight local produce, encouraging and supporting collaboration with Auvergne producers.
Under the shade of oak trees, Chef Léo's fabulous destiny takes shape. It's an encounter you'll want to provoke, to tantalize your taste buds.
