A transport-on-demand service (to be booked the day before) makes it easy to get to and from the gite, train station and town center, by combining the possibilities. Remember to do your shopping beforehand to fill the fridge, or opt for home delivery, booking in advance. In the evening, relax and play under the arbour with a spectacular view of the Chaîne des Puys and the Limagne fault. Dinner and overnight stay at the gîte. Day 2: Hiking and discovering Thiers Hike to the heart of Thiers, the city of cutlery. Explore its sloping streets, admire its amphitheatrical houses and immerse yourself in its fascinating history. Lunch on your own. Possible visit to the museum and workshop to make your own knife (optional). Return to the gîte at the end of the day. Dinner and overnight stay at the gîte. Day 3: Day-long loop hike in the Margerides, 11 km (400 m ascent) to Vallée des Rouets. Lunch on your own Visit to the Vallée des Rouets to complete the visit to the museum.
