Description

Welcome to our family home, built in 1900, which we hope will become a place of welcome and encounters! Just a stone's throw from the train station and historic center, we offer 3 guest rooms, ideal for visiting our cutlery town and discovering the Auvergne region.
Who we are Our daughter Jeanne is always happy to meet and chat with new people. Daniel is a music teacher at Thiers secondary school. Alban wants to become a family assistant, and together we want to become a host family! These projects for the family and the guest house bring together our desires for openness, encounters and hospitality. We both love music, and we'd love to share our passion. Alban will be your main host and will be able to tell you all about the house, the town and the region. He works in ceramics and pottery in the small workshop on the terrace, so don't hesitate to come and discover this activity with him. He sometimes organizes workshops in which you can participate (extra charge). He can also give you information on the region's cheeses and wines, and sometimes even organize a tasting session (also at an extra charge). Guest rooms: The rooms are located on the 3rd and top floor (no elevator), each with private bathroom facilities, adjoining for 2 of the rooms and in the same corridor for the third. Breakfast is served in the living room on the garden level. This shared living area includes a kitchen and lounge area for guests' use, with access to the terrace and garden, with an above-ground swimming pool open when the season permits. As the rooms are under the roofs, where it can be hot in summer, they are each equipped with reversible air-conditioning, which also provides additional heating in winter for personalized comfort. Wi-Fi is available throughout the house. On the 3rd-floor landing giving access to the bedrooms, there's a small lounge where guests can sit and consult tourist information and recommended restaurants. Our environmental approach: We are vigilant about our water, gas and electricity consumption. We have a compost heap in the garden. We are located in the center of town, close to the train station and bus routes, making it easy to get around without a car. Cyclists are welcome, and we can make available our closed garage adjoining the house for storing bicycles. We give preference to local produce for breakfasts. We invite our guests to take the same care, and change bed linen and towels only at the end of their stay, or on request if necessary. Musicians welcome, the living room has a piano.
