Description
A visit to the Wood Carving Workshop is an opportunity to discover the art of wood carving.
With some thirty years of experience, Gilles will give you a demonstration of scroll-cutting, take you into his world, and talk to you about the art of working with wood, as well as the local forests and life in Livradois-Forez. A wonderful encounter and a great opportunity to connect!
This visitor site is a workshop where original fretwork wood objects are crafted. The many types of wood used are sourced regionally; the precision of the fret saw cuts allows for unique creations of exceptional accuracy.
Come discover the art of fretwork through demonstrations, explanations, and conversations with Gilles, the artisan.
Let yourself be captivated by his creations: wooden lacework, games, toys, decorations, lamps, clocks, mirrors, friezes... Custom-made items.
While you’re there, enjoy the tranquility of this adobe building in a hamlet in the Dore Valley.
For individual visitors, outside the summer season, please call ahead before visiting.
For groups, reservations are required and can be made in person, by phone, or by email.
The “Make Your Own Puzzle” workshop is for ages 6 and up; it lasts about 15 minutes and can take place during your visit (be sure to reserve). Each child makes a small puzzle to take home. For individuals and small groups. Duration: about a quarter of an hour per child.
