Introduction to the Tiffany Method

The traditional lead-coming-together method is well known and is primarily used for church stained-glass windows. But stained glass is also a secular art form. As early as 1870, Louis Comfort Tiffany took an interest in glasswork and developed a new method of setting glass. Easier to implement, this method makes it possible to create small objects such as jewelry. It is this method that is used at the workshop located in the heart of the village of Auzelles. When you step inside the workshop, you’ll discover every stage of the creative process—from drawing the template to diamond cutting, grinding, and tin-setting—and see how a sheet of glass is transformed into a lamp, a mirror frame, jewelry, decorative items, or a window... Visitors of all ages are welcome.

All materials are provided, and you'll take your creation home with you.
