Description

Discover life in the jasseries, the summer farms of the Hautes Chaumes: how they worked, traditional fourme cheese making, the history of summer pastures and the changing landscapes.
What is a jasserie and how did it work? How was fourme cheese made? Who went up to the mountain pastures? How did they live? The museum space under the thatched roof of the jasserie answers these questions. (Self-guided tour or with audioguide). The Jasserie du Coq Noir also offers a wide range of activities to help you discover the environment and our heritage: nature walks for children, storytelling walks, self-guided treasure hunts, picking walks, etc. A cultural season is organized from May to October. And last but not least, you can enjoy local products (including the famous patia) by the fireside...
