The museum retraces the 600-year history of knife-making heritage. Workshops, knife-making demonstration, sound and light, shop.
At the Musée de la Coutellerie in Thiers, you can contemplate six centuries of a heritage with worldwide influence. The rich collection features works by French and foreign cutlers from the 16th century to the present day. An invitation to discover the evolution of the knife, the elegance of tableware, the modernization of lines and manufacturing techniques. But also a unique opportunity to marvel at fine cutlery, all in mother-of-pearl, ivory and gold.
In the museum's workshops, the cutlery ambassadors demonstrate the emblematic stages of knife-making. Before your very eyes, they produce the top-of-the-range knives and art knives sold in the museum boutique.
The museum has two floors accessible by staircase only. Please contact us before your visit.
