Discover Japanese calligraphy with Kanako Mitsuzumie and Yann Berne: write your first name in katakana, explore brush, ink, and paper, and write a kanji on art paper. This workshop is open to everyone; materials are provided.

The Art of the Stroke: An Introduction to Japanese Calligraphy with Kanako Mitsuzumie, a certified calligrapher, and Yann Berne, an artist. This workshop is designed for beginners and requires no prior experience. All materials are provided. After an introductory section on the Japanese language and its unique features, each participant will write their first name in katakana, become familiar with the brush-ink-paper medium, practice writing a few characters on plain paper, and then choose their favorite kanji character to trace on a sheet of art paper. Ages 7 and up. Flat rate: €10. Duration: 1 hour
